Women's Track Competes At Day One Of Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA - The 4x400 relay team met ECAC qualifying standards by running a time of 3:48.88 during day one of the Penn Relays on Thursday at Franklin Field. The quartet of junior Carlleen Allison, freshman Assata Cowart, senior Cheryl Anscombe and freshman Paris Williams placed 38th in the competitive field.

The 4x100 relay of Anscombe, Allison, freshman Danyielle Lambert and junior Rose Drayton placed 47th in a time of 47.80.

In individual results, junior Amanda Cole finished third in the hammer throw with a distance of 176-10, while sophomore Melissa Gale was 23rd in the pole vault (10-11 1/2). Cowart placed 34th in the 400m hurdles (1:03.72).

Men's action begins on Friday morning with sophomore Brad McFadden in the 400m hurdles at 9:00 AM.
