Women's Track Tunes Up For A-10s At Lions Invite

EWING, NJ - Junior Carlleen Allison met ECAC standards with a season-best time of 56.20 in the 400m to lead the Temple women's track team to a successful afternoon at the Lions Invitational, hosted by the College of New Jersey on Saturday. Allison finished second in the event and joined the 4x100 relay as the only ECAC qualifiers for the Owls on the day.
Temple had a slew of impressive finishes, led by two Owls who won their events. Freshman Tashima Stephens won the 800m (2:17.10) and sophomore Sequoia McBall took the triple jump (11.33m).
Senior Cheryl Anscombe was second in the 100m (12.61), while sophomore Brittney McRae (14.88) and junior Devon DuPont (15.04) went two-three in the 100m hurdles. Junior Jasselle Cruz placed third in the 400m hurdles (1:04.54).
In the field events, Dupont was third in the high jump (1.56m) as was freshman Selena Haggins in the long jump (5.31m). Senior Kimberlyn Hill was third in the triple jump (11.21m) and sophomore Daisy Amato placed fourth in the javelin (34.06m).
Temple will to the University of Massachusetts next weekend for the Atlantic 10 Championship.
