Cowart Named Atlantic 10 Track Rookie Of The Week

PHILADELPHIA - Temple freshman Assata Cowart has been named the Atlantic 10 Women's Outdoor Track Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced. Cowart was an ECAC-qualifier in two events on Saturday at the Penn Invitational, winning the 400m hurdles (1:02.17) and helping the Owls to a victory in the 4x400 relay.
Her time in the 400m hurdles is the fastest in the Atlantic 10 this season. It marks the second time this season that she has been honored by the conference as its rookie of the week.
Temple returns to action this weekend at the New Jersey Invitational at TCNJ.
