2008 Temple Women's Crew Awards Announced

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's crew team announced its end of the year awards and Jackie Swan came away with three pieces of hardware. The senior won the Academic Award, the Captain's Award, along with Amanda Barr and was a recipient of the Four Year Oar Awards with fellow seniors Laura Austin, Barr, Anne Mikolajewski and Jennifer Azeles.
Sophomore Mary Webster was named the Most Valuable Oarswoman for her consistency throughout the season. Erin Buchanan received the Freshman/Novice Award while Katie Hoban notched the Coach's Award. Megan Silk and Dana DiPentino were the co-winners of the Rookie of the Year and sophomore Kendra Dickenson worked her way to the Most Improved Oarswoman and Maureen McDermitt won the Dedication Award. Junior Laura Scullin, will be a co-captain for the 2009 season. She also received the Inspiration Award. Laura Altimari will be the other co-captain.
