Women's Crew Competes at ECAC Metro Rowing Championships

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ - The Temple Varsity 4 was the lone Owl boat to advance to the grand final at the 2008 ECAC Metro Rowing Championships held Sunday on the Cooper River. The race was the final tune-up before this weekend's Dad Vail Regatta.

The varsity 4, comprised of coxswain Jennifer Azeles, Carolyn Bailey (stroke), Mary Peach (3-seat), Brynn Moore (2-seat) and Kelly McAndrew (bow), finished sixth in the final, three seconds behind fifth place UMass.

The Second Varsity 8, comprised of coxswain Maureen McDermitt, Laura Austin (stroke), Katie Hoban (7-seat), Danielle Britton (6-seat), Nicole Wagner (5-seat), Meagan Rudge (4-seat), Jacqueline Swan (3-seat), Colleen Bianco (2-seat) and Sarah Cadman (bow), finished second in the petite final.

The varsity 8, comprised of coxswain Jill Ploof, Anne Mikolajewski (stroke), Laura Scullin (7-seat), Mary Webster (6-seat), Kendra Dickinson (5-seat), Bailey Chick (4-seat), Amanda Barr (3-seat), Jessica Herrman (2-seat), and Laura Altimari (bow), placed fourth in the petite final.

The Owls' Novice 8, comprised of coxswain Erin Buchanan, stroke Dana DiPentino, Megan Silk (7-seat), Caitlin Pennington (6-seat), Rebekah Barnes (5-seat), Nicole Miller (4-seat), Kayla Heston (3-seat), Rebecca Letizia (2-seat) and Allison Bates (bow), placed second on their petite final.

The Owls next take the river Friday at the Dad Vail Regatta.
