Witmer Named A-10 Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Freshman midfielder Tyler Witmer was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the week ending September 14th, the conference announced on Monday afternoon. Along with his Atlantic 10 honors, Witmer has also been named Soccer 7 Co-Player of the Week, sharing the title with Drew Healy of Penn.
Witmer becomes the first Owl this season to receive such honors. Witmer, a Wernersville, Pa. native, came off the bench and posted two goals in the Owls win over Hofstra on Sunday. His first two collegiate goals proved to be all the offense the Owls needed in the 2-0 victory. Witmer now leads the Owls in goals (2) and points (4)for the season.
The Cherry and White (2-2-0) return to action on September 19, at 3:00 p.m., when they host Mercer as part of the Penn Classic.
