Young scored five goals and recorded 10 points as the Cherry and White cruised to opening weekend victories over Lehigh and Bryant. In a 5-0 win over Lehigh on Saturday, Young registered the first hat trick of her career. Young added two more goals as the Owls posted a 5-0 victory over Bryant on Sunday.

Young's five goals is already three more than she scored for the entire 2007 season.
