Filip Rams Named Atlantic 10 Performer And Rookie Of The Week

PHILADELPHIA - Freshman Filip Rams, who won a pair of singles matches this weekend, was named the Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Performer and Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. Rams defeated James Madison's Mike Smith, 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 at second singles on Friday and William and Mary's Richard Wardell, 6-2, 7-5 on Sunday.

Rams currently leads the Owls with an 11-3 singles record and has won five straight matches. The Katowice, Poland native is also 7-3 in doubles with senior Eduardo Saavedra.

Temple (1-3) returns to action on Friday when it hosts St. Francis (NY) at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center at 5 PM.
