Women's Gymnastics Takes Second at Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Penn. - It was another impressive night for the vastly improving Temple women's gymnastics team, as the Owls took second place at the Ursinis Tri-Meet with a season-high score of 187.075. The Owls finished ahead of Ursinus (183.675) and were narrowly edged by regional power Towson (188.800).
Sophomore Katie Canning was once again the star for the Cherry and White. The reigning ECAC Gymnast of the Week finshed tied for first on vault (9.775) balance beam (9.700), all-around (38.200) and also took fourth on floor exercise (9.650). Senior Natasha Crawford also turned in an outstanding performance, taking second place in the all-around 37.175.
Several other Owls registered impressive performances. Junior Nikki Berrian finished second on uneven bars with a score of 9.625. Freshman Corrine Williams finished second on balance beam with a score of 9.550. Freshman Kaity Wilson finished sixth on vault (9.625).
The Owls return to action Wednesday when they host Rutgers from McGonigle Hall. Action is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m. and can be viewed on OwlAccess.
