Women's Basketball Returns to A-10 Play With Doubleheader Against Dayton

PHILADELPHIA- Temple Women's Basketball (12-7, 3-2 A-10) returns home to the Liacouras Center on Saturday, hosting the Dayton Flyers (13-8, 2-3 A-10) in the first game of a men's and women's double-header. The game tips off at 3:30 p.m. and can be heard live on WPHT 1210 AM with Kristen Foley and Joe Heyer calling all the action.
Series Record
This is the 18th meeting between Temple and Dayton. The Flyers lead the series, 9-8, but the Owls took the last meeting, 56-51, on March 9, 2008.
Scouting the Owls
The temperature may have been cold outside but the shooting was hot inside, as Temple used a 55% shooting percentage, including a 57.1% shooting clip from long range, to post an 80-58 win over Central Michigan on Wednesday. The Owls made 12-of-21 treys, tying the record for most three-pointers made in a game. Shaqwedia Wallace led the Owls with 21 points, including a 5-of-8 performance from long range, and had a game-high five steals. LaKeisha Eaddy had a double-double of 10 points and 10 assists, her second such double-double of the season. The junior nearly had a triple-double, grabbing eight boards. Kristen McCarthy chipped in with 11 points, while Shenita Landry had eight points and 11 rebounds.
Landry leads four Owls in double figures with 12.3 ppg and a team-high 9.6 rpg, while Wallace is second with 11.8 ppg. Shanea Cotton is third with 11.2 ppg. Eaddy is fourth with 10.6 ppg and has dished a squad-high 98 assists.
Scouting the Flyers
A game-high 18 points from Justine Raterman was not enough on Wednesday as Dayton Flyers fell to George Washington at home, 64-52. Casey Nance added nine points and nine rebounds for Dayton, but the Colonials shot 11-of-22 from three-point range while holding UD to 29.6 percent shooting from the field. It was Dayton's lowest shooting performance since their opening game against the Texas Longhorns.
Kristen Daugherty leads three Flyers in double figures with 13.9 ppg, while Raterman is second with 13.2 ppg and a team-high 9.5 rpg. Kendel Ross is third with 11.2 ppg.

The Owls made 12 three pointers in the win at Central Michigan (1/28), which tied the record for most treys in a game. TU hasn't made that many three-pointers in a game since 2001.
