Women's Crew Opens Season At Navy Day Regatta

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's crew program opened its 2009-10 season with the Navy Day Regatta on Saturday. October 10. on the Schuylkill River The Owls had a strong showing at the event, highlighted by the Varsity 8's fifth place finish (out of 20).
The Owls' JV 8 boat placed a solid ninth out of a field of 14 while the Varsity 4 placed 16th of 19.
The Varsity 8, comprised of Brynn Moore (stroke), Mary Webster (7-seat), Bailey Chick (6-seat), Taylor Wasserleben (5-seat), Kendra Dickenson (4-seat), Jeanine Lees (3-seat),Paige o'Sullivan (2-seat), Nicole Wagner (bow) and Erin Buchanan (coxswain), finished behind Penn, Navy, Drexel and Saint Joseph's but ahead of Rutgers, Delaware, Lehigh, Philadelphia U and Loyola (Md.) among others.
The JV8 was comprised of Kara Jackson (stroke), Megan Hanlin (7-seat), Megan Welsh (6-seat), Megan Silk (5-seat), Joanna Sutor (4-seat), Alex Slater-Williams (3-seat), Rebecca Rosenberg (2-seat), Molly Schreiner (bow) and Isabella Bourbon (coxswain)
The Varsity 4 was comprised of Ryan Ellenbaum (stroke), Caitlin Pennington (3-seat), Claudia Loeber (2-seat), Angela Flinn (bow) and Alexis Coomey (coxswain).
The Owls next compete at the Head of the Schuylkill on October 24.
