Cross Country Competes At Paul Short Invitational

Men take 23rd in gold division, women finish 29th in brown
Bethlehem, Pa. – The Temple men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Paul Short Invitiational Friday afternoon in Bethlehem, Pa. The men's side was led to a 23rd place finish in the Gold division by Mike May, placing 59th in a time of 24:41. For the women, Rebecca Mims again was the best finisher, placing 62nd in a time of 23:06 en route to a 29th place overall finish.
Following Mims was freshman Diedre MacFarland, placing 131st in a time of 23:50. Freshman Katherine Frank was close behind in a time of 23:57. Other notable times were had by sophomore Eva Sepulveda (166th, 24:09), classmate Karrie Finn (190th, 24:29), junior Tashima Stephens (228th, 25:19), and freshman Jennifer Abercrumbie (239th, 25:41).
In the JV race, freshman Tonney Smith led the Owls with a 222nd place finish in a time of 26:30. Also faring well was freshman Tessa West, placing 227th in a time of 26:33.
For the men, junior Eddie Penetar placed 73rd, close behind May in a time of 24:46. Sophomore Travis Mahoney ran the hill-and-dale in a time of 25:18, good enough for th 149th place. Other notable times were had by senior Adin Mickle (179th, 25:28) and junior Eric Conklin (194th, 25:32).
In the men's JV race, junior Aaron Taylor ran the course in a time of 29:21.
The Cherry and White race again on October 17, when they compete in the Blue and Gold Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware.
