Eaddy and McCarthy Earn Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Preseason Honors

Owls picked to finish fifth of 14 teams in the preseason poll
PHILADELPHIA – Senior LaKeisha Eaddy and sophomore Kristen McCarthy both earned Atlantic 10 Preseason Women's Basketball honors, as Eaddy was named to the second team and McCarthy garnered third team honors.
For the second straight year, Eaddy was also selected to the All-Defensive Team. Eaddy, a second team all-conference selection last season, returns as Temple's leading scorer from 2008-09 after averaging 11.4 points per game. She also led the team with 5.5 assists per game, and with 375 assists in her career, she ranks fourth all-time at Temple and is well on her way to taking the top spot.
McCarthy, named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team as a freshman last season, averaged 8.6 points per game along with 4.3 rebounds per game. She recorded 51 steals to rank second on the team, and scored in double figures 11 times.
The Owls were picked to finish fifth in the conference in the preseason poll after placing second last year. The Xavier Musketeers, ranked 13th when Temple scored an upset against them last season, were picked first, followed by Charlotte. Dayton and Richmond tied for third in the poll.
