Colonials answer with 3-0 win after Temple’s sweep of GW on Sept. 26

Box Score

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Temple volleyball team lost a 3-0 match at George Washington in A-10 play on Friday night, one month after sweeping the Colonials 3-0 in Philadelphia. GWU improved to 19-8 overall and 6-4 in the A-10, tied with Temple who now stands at 10-9 overall.

Yun Yi Zhang led all players with 14 kills, Cayleigh Ashman knocked down seven kills and Jess Antosz tallied five kills with only one error to lead the team with a hitting percentage of .364.

The teams stayed neck-and-neck through the first half of the first set, but with Temple down 14-12, George Washington used a 7-0 run to pull out of reach.

Temple fell behind by big margins early on in the second and third sets. Despite battling both times, the Owls were unable to fully recover the rest of the way. The final scores of the match were 25-17, 25-19 and 25-14.

Temple will return to action on Sunday, Nov. 1 in a 3:00 p.m. match against Dayton. While the match is a home contest for the Owls, it will be played at La Salle's Tom Gola Arena due to scheduling conflicts at Temple.
