Owls’ senior one of 62 Division I seniors invited to combine
NEW YORK – Announced by Major League Soccer today, Temple men's soccer standout J.T. Noone is one of 62 college seniors from 44 Division I schools who have been invited to participate in the 2010 adidas MLS Player Combine. The annual player combine will be held at Central Broward Regional Park in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Jan. 8-12, 2010.
Noone, the TU career (26) and single-season assist leader (13), led the Owls to a 9-7-2, 4-4-1 in A-10 play finish in 2009, earning back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2003 and 2004.
The Harrisburg, PA native (Central Dauphin) finished his career with 50 points (12 g, 26 a). He is one of 39 midfielder/forwards to be invited, and one of three Soccer Six representatives (Mike Seamon/Villanova, Alex Grendi/Pennsylvania).
The initial player list was determined by a select panel of Division I college coaches representing all conferences who nominated and voted for players in conjunction with MLS coaches. Youth players from the Generation adidas program will join additional collegiate players from NCAA Division II and III schools, NAIA schools and Division I alternates to finalize the 2010 adidas MLS Player Combine. The final player list and team assignments will be announced in the coming weeks.
