Men voted to improve to third, women to repeat in fourth

Newport News, VA – In voting conducted by the league's coaches, the Temple men's and women's indoor track teams were predicted to finish third and fourth at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships, respectively.

“I think we are a much better team than we were last year,” commented head coach Eric Mobley. “For both team's to be ranked as high as they are is a credit to their strong finishes last season, and we look to achieve even more as this season progresses.”

Already showing they are back with a purpose, the Cherry and White squads had a fine showing at the season opening Jack Pyrah Invitational last weekend. A combined eight first place finishes were had by the Owls, including three IC4A and one ECAC qualifying mark.

The Charlotte men's and women's teams were picked to finish first, while only Rhode Island was picked to finish ahead of the men. Dayton and Rhode Island round out the top three on the women's side.

The 2010 A-10 Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held Feb. 19-20 at Mackal Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of Rhode Island.
