Owls Have Strong Showings at Bison Multi, Thompson Invitational

LEWISBURG, PA - Senior Devon DuPont stole the show at this weekends Bison Multi in Lewisburg, Pa. Dupont took gold in three events, claiming first in the 55m hurdles, 800m dash, and long jump. Overall, Dupont was the first place finisher in the pentathlon, meeting ECAC qualifying standards.
Dupont won the 55m hurdles with a time of 8.52. In the 800m, the senior had a first place time of 2:26.37, and her long jump 17-09.75 lifted her to victory. Junior Shariece Stonewall also fared well, placing third in the high jump with a height of 5-02.25, and ran the 55m hurdles in a time of 9.41.
The Cherry and White also competed in the Thompson Invitation on Saturday, hosted by the University of Delaware. Sophomore Assata Cowart was the Owls top finisher placing first in the 500m dash with a time of 1:18.13. Classmate Abagail Blomeke tied for third in the high jump with a personal best 5-03.00. Junior Sequoia McBall had a strong showing in the triple jump, placing second with a distance of 36-04.25.
The Owls compete next in the New Balance Collegiate Invite in New York, NY on February 7th and 8th.
