Owls Fare Well In Final Meet Before A-10's

LEWISBURG, PA - The Temple women's track team competed in the Bucknell Winter Classic this Saturday in Lewisburg, Pa. Senior Rose Drayton was the Owls lone first place finisher on the day, taking the 200m title with a time of 26.04.
In the same event, Danyielle Lambert placed sixth with a time of 26.82. Lambert also took fifth in the 400m. Junior Rebecca Mims nabbed third in the 1000m with a time of 3:01.74.
The high jump was held down by sophomores Abigail Blomeke and Brittany Clybourne, who tied for second in the event (1.55m). In the triple jump, junior Sequoia McBall landed second with a distance of 11.57m.
The Owls main pole vaulter, junior Melissa Gale, turned in another solid performance this week. The school record holder in the event nailed a second place finish, clearing a height of 3.35m.
Senior Amanda Cole continues to keep momentum leading into this week's Atlantic 10 Championships. Cole placed third in the shot put with toss of 12.81m, and took second in the weight throw with a distance of 17.56m.
The Cherry and White will travel to Kingston, RI, to take part in the Atlantic 10 Championships, competing from February 20th to 21st.
