Vizhunov Named A-10 Rookie Of The Week

PHILADELPHIA - Freshman Dmitry Vizhunov, who won his singles and doubles matches in a 4-3 victory over Richmond on Friday, has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week in men's tennis, the conference announced today. He is the third Owl to win A-10 rookie honors, joining classmate Filip Rams.

Vizhunov defeated Rafael Arana, 6-0, 6-0 at third singles and teamed with senior Nathan Spunda for a 9-8 third doubles victory over Arana and AJ Nelson.

The Sochi, Russia native has won three straight singles matches without dropping a set to improve to 8-9 overall. He is also 6-4 in doubles.

Temple (3-5) returns to the courts on Friday when it hosts Drexel at noon at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center.
