Rams Nets Second A-10 Rookie Of The Week Honor

PHILADELPHIA - Freshman Filip Rams earned his second Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honor in three weeks after recording wins at #1 singles and #1 doubles, the league office announced today. Rams leads the Owls with 12 singles victories.
Rams won 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 over St. Francis (NY) senior Jindrich Chaloupka in the top singles spot to help Temple to a 7-0 victory over the Terriers. He also teamed with senior Eduardo Saavedra at #1 doubles to earn a 8-3 win over Chaloupka and Daniel Gonzalez.
Earlier in the week, in a 7-0 loss at Penn, Rams dropped a 2-6, 7-6, 10-5 loss at third singles to Adam Schwartz.
Rams is 12-4 this season in singles, including 3-1 during the spring semester. He also has a 8-4 record in doubles with Saavedra.
Temple (2-4) returns to action on Friday with a trip to George Washington. Play begins at 1 PM.
