Women's Gymnastics Sweeps Weekly Awards, Preps for ECAC Championships

PHILADELPHIA - After reaching career-highs in last week's record-setting meet at Cornell, sophomore Katie Canning, freshman Kaity Watson and senior Nikki Berrian were all honored by the ECAC in its weekly awards.
Canning was named the ECAC Gymnast of the Week for the third time this season, Watson earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Berrian was named the Speacialist of the Week.
Canning hit 4-for-4 against Cornell, taking first place on vault, floor, and the all-around. Canning also earned career-highs on the uneven bars (9.675), floor exercise(9.825), and all-around(38.95).
All four of Canning's scores helped the Owls break the school's all-time team scoring record with a score of 192.625.

Performing the all-around for the first time this season, Watson score a 38.275, which now stands as her career high. She also earned seasonhighs on each event and tied for first place on vault with teammate Katie Canning.

The Owls now set their sights on the ECAC Championships, which will take place this Saturday from Yale University in New Haven, Conn. The Cherry and White hope that this season's record-breaking performances will help the squad improve on last season's fifth place finish.
