Mason's Hole-In-One Highlights Owls Trip To Ohio State

COLUMBUS, OH - Sophomore Andrew Mason carded a hole-in-one on the par three, 221-yard 13th hole on Saturday to highlight Temple's trip to Ohio State at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. Mason led the Owls with a 21st place finish after shooting a 79-73-76=228 (+15). The Cherry and White finished 12th in the competitive field, which included nine teams ranked in the top 75 nationally by GolfStat.com.
Temple carded a 310-309-323=942 (+90) on the 7,455-yard Scarlet Course at OSU. The Owls were five shots back of Penn State, ranked #43 by GolfStat.com and 13 shots behind Notre Dame.
Senior Kevin Busteed shot a 77-74-84=235 (+22) to tie for 43rd while sophomore Joseph Kim recorded a 75-80-84=239 (+26) to tie for 59th.
Junior Eric Plisko had a 79-85-79=243 (+30) and finished in 68th while senior Adam Pifer carded a 81-82-87=250 (+37) to place 72nd.
Ohio State individual Brad Wright was the medalist after shooting a 71-71-76=218 (+5). Josh Dupont of Northwestern was second, two shots back, and led the Wildcats to the team title. NU shot a 301-296-295=892 (+40), two shots ahead of East Tennessee State.
Temple will have one final tune-up for the Atlantic 10 Championship at next week's Boilermaker Invitational at Purdue beginning on Saturday.
