PHILADELPHIA - For the second time this outdoor season, Temple women's track & field standout Amanda Cole has been named Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Co-Performer of the Week, sharing the honors with Charlotte's Lamarra Currie. Cole led the Owls to a first place finish overall at the inaugural John L. McHale '49 Dual Meet, where she placed first in the hammer throw, discus, and shot put.
The senior thrower bettered her school record in the hammer throw when she landed a distance of 189-0. Her mark met ECAC and NCAA Regional qualifying standards. She also recorded a season best in the discus, with a toss of 113-7.
The Owls and Cole are back in competition this weekend when they travel to Bethlehem, PA, for the Greyhound Invitational on April 18-19.
