Bethlehem, PA - The Temple track field teams competed Saturday in the Greyhound Invitational, hosted by Moravian College. Senior Amanda Cole won the hammer throw and bettered her NCAA Regional qualifying mark with a meet-record toss of 184-00, and was named the women's Most Outstanding Thrower of the Meet, an honor given in the memory of Moravian Coach Doug Pollard.

Cole also took first in the discus with a toss of 131-07.

For the women, junior Melissa Gale took third in the pole vault, clearing a height of 11-00.00. Sophomore Sequoia McBall posted a first place finish in the triple jump, reaching a distance of 37-03.00.

In the javelin, junior Daisy Amato led the way with a tenth place finish (110-06), while Rachel Furman finished fourteenth in the same event (106-08).

Sophomore Abigail Blomeke, the Owls' lone high jump competitor, placed second by clearing a height of 5-03.00.

The Temple A 4x100m relay team (DuPont, Drayton, Allison, Butler) solidified a first place finish by breaking the tape in a time of 47.76.

Sophomore Brittany Clybourn gave the Cherry and White another first place finish when she clocked an ECAC qualifying time of 14.40 in the 100m dash. Senior Devon DuPont followed closely in the same event, placing fourth in a time of 15.10.

The Owls continued to dominate the sprints, with Carlleen Allison taking second in the 400m dash in a time of 56.37. Sophomore Tashima Stephens and freshman Shadaya Bennett placed fourth and fifth, respectively in the event. In the 100m dash, Rose Drayton placed fourth in a time of 12.75, with Andrea Butler and Danyielle Lambert placing sixth and seventh.

Freshman Rebecca Mims competed in the 800m for the Owls, placing tenth in a time of 2:24.06. Sophomore Assata Cowart took the title in the 400m hurdles, finishing in a meet-record and ECAC qualifying time of 1:01.28.

In the 200m dash, sophomore Paris Williams and senior Devon DuPont finished third and fourth, in respective times of 25.66 and 25.67.

On the men's side, junior Grant West won the hammer throw and bettered his NCAA Regional qualifying mark with a distance of 188-6. Sophomore Bob Keogh finished fourth in the same even with a toss of 176-10. Senior Bryce Buffaloe finished sixth in the hammer with a toss of 164-9, also finished sixth in the discus with a toss of 144-08, and took ninth in the shot put (46-01.00).

In the pole vault, Brian Smith finished 10th clearing a height 12-11.50, while Ryan Berger cleared 12-05.25 to finish 12th.

Sophomore Tim Boeni won the long jump with an NCAA Regional qualifying distance of 24-03.50, with classmate Miles Dryden finishing close behind in third with a distance of 23-00.00. Dryden also took ninth in the 100m dash (11.20), with Boeni taking tenth (11.22). Boeni nabbed a third place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 21.99.

Sophomore Kijaun Wilkinson continues to hold down the triple jump for the Owls, finishing fourth with a distance 45-00.25.

In the javelin, freshman Eric Brittingham finished in second with an IC4A qualifying throw of 200-00. Also competing in the event were redshirt-freshman Chris Durante (12th, 174-02) and junior Charlie Morris (14th, 173-00).

Junior Joshua Louis took the title in the high jump clearing a height of 6-06.75. Louis also took third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.02.

Senior Marquise Stancil led the way in the 400m dash, posting an IC4A qualifying time of 47.90. Classmate Jason Sullivan took sixth in the event, clocking in a time of 49.53.

In the distance events, Clarke Hunt and Jim Waddington finished the 3000m steeplechase 10th and 11th (10:33.26, 10:49.79).

The relay teams also fared well, with the Temple A 4x100 squad (Berger, Louis, Dryden, Boeni) winning in a time of 42.22, while Temple B (Lee, Lynch, Williams, McFadden) placed third in a time of 43.35. The 4x400m team (McFadden, Lee, Bowser, Boone) placed second in a time of 3:18.96.

In the 1500m run, Geoffrey Barletta took eighth in a time of 4:02.96. It was Aaron Taylor finishing best for the Owls in the 800m run, taking second in a time of 1:53.61. Junior Brad McFadden continues to perform in the 400m hurdles, taking second this weekend in a time of 53.34.

Sophomore Mike May and freshman Travis Mahoney finished one-two in the 5000m run, May finishing in a time of 15:31.40 and Mahoney in 15:34.60.

The Owls will compete next in the prestigious Penn Relays, beginning Thursday, April 23.
