PHILADELPHIA - The 31st annual Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship will take place this weekend, Aprril 24-26, at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla. Temple will look to improve upon last spring's seventh place showing, which was the best since 2005.

The Owls, which played a challenging spring slate included tournaments at Ohio State and Purdue, are led by junior Eric Plisko and senior Kevin Busteed, who are tied for the team lead with a 74.7 stroke average. The duo is tied for sixth in the Atlantic 10, just 1.1 behind the leaders.

Sophomore Andrew Mason has paced the Cherry and White in the past three tournaments and carries a 76.1 stroke average. Redshirt freshman Sasha Bozic holds a 76.8 average, followed by sophomore Joseph Kim (77.4), senior Adam Pifer (78.9) and sophomore Mark Edmondson (80.3).

The Championship tees off on Friday, Apr. 24, with Charlotte vying to capture its fourth consecutive A-10 crown. Led by 2008 All-Conference selections Corey Nagy and Stefan Wiedergruen, who finished second and tied for fifth overall, respectively, at last year's Championship, the 49ers seek to become the first team to win four straight A-10 titles since Penn State won five consecutive crowns from 1986-91.

Coming off a program-best runner-up finish a year ago, Dayton is anchored by senior Rob Chappell, the 2008 individual champion, and sophomore Chris Woeste, who was tabbed the Most Outstanding Rookie last season. Chappell is vying to become just the fifth player in league history to win consecutive A-10 individual titles and the first since Xavier's Steve Dixon accomplished the feat in 1998 and 1999.

Joining Charlotte, Dayton and Temple in the quest for the 2009 A-10 title are Duquesne, Fordham, George Washington, La Salle, Rhode Island, Richmond, St. Bonaventure, Saint Joseph's, and Xavier. Tee times for all three rounds of the Championship begin at 8:00am.

Home of the 1998 & 2000 NCAA Men's Golf Championship, Mission Inn Resort has been ranked among the "top 10 of Florida's favorite golf courses" by Florida Golf News; received the "Four-Star Award" by Golf Digest; and was recognized as one of the nation's "top 100 golf courses" by Links Magazine.
