Owls Compete In Day Two Of Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA The Temple track field teams took to competition at Franklin Field for day two of the Penn Relays. Sophomore Tim Boeni highlighted action for the men, taking a fourth place finish in the College Men's Eastern long jump. For the women, the shuttle hurdles team took a fifth place finish with a time of 58.99.
Boeni cleared 23-10.25 in the long jump, again meeting IC4A qualifying standards and nearly bettering his NCAA Regional qualifying mark. In the same event, junior Miles Dryden cleared 22-1 for a thirteenth place finish.
Dryden and Boeni also helped propel the 4x100m relay team (Louis and Lynch) to an ECAC mark with a time of 42.33 (45th). They also teamed up with junior Joshua Louis and sophomore Ryan Berger in the 4x200m relay, finishing in a time of 1:28.11 (32nd).
The men's 4x400m relay team was narrowly edged by rival Saint Joseph's in the Wetzler/Pennsylvania heat, finishing second with an IC4A qualifying time of 3:17.43.
For the women, the 4x200m relay team (Allison, DuPont, Williams, Butler) finished in a time of 1:39.56. The sprint medley team (Drayton, Adams, Cowart, Bennett) clocked in a time of 4:07.72 (27th).
Action for the final day of the Penn Relays will begin for the Owls with Grant West and Bob Keogh squaring off in the hammer throw at 12:15, with the women's 4x200m relay team competing at 2:32.
