Temple Track & Field Teams Send 10 Athletes to NCAA East Regionals

PHILADELPHIA - A school-record 10 members of the Temple men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams qualified for the NCAA East Regional, taking place this weekend from Greensboro, N.C.
Six athletes from the women’s team will compete at the NCAA Regional. Senior Amanda Cole (hammer throw/9th in east region), sophomore Paris Williams (400m, 20th) and sophomore Assata Cowart (400 hurdles/ 40th) will all compete in individual competitions. Fresh from its second-place finish at the ECAC Championship, the women’s 4x4 relay team - consisting of Williams, junior Carlleen Allison, senior Devon DuPont, and sophomore Tashima Stephens – will alsobe comepteting this weekend and hoping to advance to the NCAA Championships.
A total of four athletes will be traveling to the regional on the men’s side. Junior Grant West – coming off a sixth-place finish at the ECAC Championships – will compete in the hammer throw. Sophomore Tim Boeni (long jump/22nd) and junior Brad McFadden (long jump/28th) will also be competing, while freshman Eric Brittingham qualified in the throws but will not compete due to injury.
The competition will begin on Friday and last through the weekend from the campus of UNC-Greensboro.
