Crew To Compete At Dad Vail Regatta This Weekend
5.7.09 | Women's Rowing
May 7, 2009
PHILADELPHIA - Temple Crew takes to the waters of the Schuylkill River starting Friday at the Dad Vail Regatta. The men's varsity 8, winners of 21 of the past 25 Dad Vail Regattas, are seeded fourth this year after winning gold at the Bergen Cup two weeks ago. The women's varsity 8 is coming off a third place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championships.
On Saturday Temple Rowing Alumni will have a tent to cheer the Owls on to victory as well as see renderings of the new Temple Boathouse. The tent will be located at space #15 and will have lunch, snacks and some liquid refreshment from about midday on. Look for a big white tent and the cherry and white Temple flag nestled between Penn State's alum tent and Bucknell. This link gives you a general idea of where the alumni tents are.
Please feel free to bring friends, loved ones and even children to the festivities. The suggested donation for these festivities is $25 for anyone 12 and up, which you can pay onsite, or in advance, via PayPal, (email alumni volunteer Lisa Marsh at lisammarsh@aol.com and she will send an invoice). The donation will cover the cost of the refreshments and the remainder will go to the fund for the new Temple Boathouse.
Bring a couple of folding chairs, your memories and your cheering voice. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, May 9.
Please feel free to email Lisa Marsh with your RSVP and any questions.
