PHILADELPHIA - Temple University senior All-America J.T. Noone has been named to the 2009 A-10 preseason men's soccer All-Conference team, as selected by the league's head coaches. Noone, a midfielder, earned second team All-America honors in 2008 to go along with first team all-Atlantic 10 honors.
Noone, a native of Harrisburg, Pa (Central Dauphin), posted record breaking numbers in 2008 for the Owls. His 12 assists set a school mark, breaking the previous mark of nine set by Tony Donatelli in 2004. A starter in every game for the Cherry and White, Noone led the Atlantic 10 in assists and assists per game, as well as ranking third nationally in assists per game. The midfielder tallied seven goals, and led the team in points with 26.
His Second Team NSCAA All-America selection marked the first time in 22 years that an Owl was named an All-America by the collegiate soccer coaches association.
Members of last year's All-Conference first-team who earned preseason honors this year also include Temple senior midfielder J.T. Noone (7 goals, 12 assists, 26 points) and senior forward Andy Stadler (14 goals, 3 assists, 31 points) of George Washington.
