TEMPLE-EASTERN MICHIGAN— THE SERIES
Temple owns a perfect 4-0 record against Eastern Michigan and a 1-0 mark in MAC play.

The schools first met in 1993 in Ypsilanti, Mich. The Owls fought the Eagles the entire game and pulled out a 31-28 win on the road.

The teams met again three years later, again at Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti. Temple claimed a four-point victory, 28-24.

In 2000 at Franklin Field, Temple won its third consecutive game against EMU in a 49-40 shootout in Philadelphia. Sophomore RB Tanardo Sharps ran for a career-high 203 yards and had two 65-yard touchdown runs. Junior QB Devin Scott threw three touchdown passes to help the Owls to a 3-1 record for the first time since 1987.

Last fall in their first MAC showdown, the teams competed in an offensive shooting match. In Temple football's biggest offensive explosion in nearly a decade, senior QB Adam DiMichele threw for a school record six touchdowns and passed for a career-high 370 yards, while senior Bruce Francis caught a school-record four touchdown passes as the Owls hung on for a wild 55-52 victory at Lincoln Financial Field.

The two MAC teams combined for 854 yards and 107 points. EMU QB Andy Schmitt re-wrote Temple's opponent records for passing attempts in a game, (76 = just seven shy of the NCAA record) and completions in a game (50). Both were new EMU single game records as well as his 484 yards passing.
