Scheid heads home the game winner in the 85th minute

High Point, NC – A late goal was all the Temple women's soccer team (2-1-0) needed to grab their second win of the season over Elon Friday evening in the opening round of the High Point Tournament. Junior Stephanie Ferretti took a corner in the 85^th minute, perfectly placing a pass for classmate Sara Scheid to head home, giving the Owls a 1-0 victory.

The story of the game was defense for both sides, with the Cherry and White not allowing a shot on goal in the first half. Freshman keeper Gillian Kacsuta, making her debut as a starter, made three saves in the game to preserve her first career shutout.

Transfer Nicky Petrillo led the Owls in shots with three, registering one on goal.

The final game of the High Point Tournament will be played on Sunday at 1:00 p.m., when TU takes on the College of Charleston.
