COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.
– The Temple women's gymnastics team placed third at the Ursinus Quad-Meet Sunday afternoon. The Owls were led by a first place finish on floor (9.700) from sophomore Corrine Williams, who also placed second on beam (9.750).

Scoring a team total of 188.900 points, the Cherry and White were out-placed by rival Towson (1st, 190.225) and Bridgeport (2nd, 189.025). Host Ursinus finished fourth with a total score of 180.950.

On vault, reigning ECAC Women's Gymnast of the Week Kaity Watson scored highest for the Owls, placing fourth with a total of 9.725. Junior Katie Canning took sixth in the same event with a score of 9.650.

Team co-captain Kathryn Ho landed Temple's best score on uneven bars, finishing sixth with a score of 9.400. Finishing eight in the same event was freshman Jean Alban, who scored 9.275.

Alban led the Owls all-around, scoring 37.525 points for fifth place. She narrowly beat out Watson, who finished sixth with 37.475 points.

The Cherry and White travel to Rutgers next weekend, with competition slated for January 27 at 7:00 p.m. Temple returns to McGonigle Hall for their home opener on February 6, hosting the Liberty Classic at 1:00 p.m.
