Temple takes Player of the Year and Coach of the Year titles
PHILADELPHIA - On January 3, the Philadelphia Inquirer's women's basketball beat writer Mel Greenberg named his Philadelphia Women's Basketball All-Decade Team as well as All-Decade teams for each of the six Division I schools in the area. Temple's Candice Dupree ('06) was honored as the Player of the Decade.
Greenberg, the founder of the women's basketball AP Poll and a member of the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, named a 15-member All-Decade Team that included former Temple players Dupree, Kamesha Hairston and Stacey Smalls. Former Temple head coach Dawn Staley was named the Coach of the Decade.
Current seniors LaKeisha Eaddy and Jasmine Stone were both named to Temple's 15-member Team of the Decade.
