Temple To Host Big 5 Golf Invitational October 9-10

Field of 21 teams to take part in two-day event at Plymouth CC
PHILADELPHIA- Temple will host the annual Big 5 Golf Invitational this weekend at the Plymouth Country Club in Plymouth Meeting, Pa. this Saturday and Sunday, October 9-10. The 2010 field includes 21 teams from nine conferences and features all six Division I universities in Philadelphia (Temple, Penn, Villanova, Saint Joseph's, La Salle, and Drexel). Tee times begin at 7:30 AM on Saturday and Sunday.
In addition to the six Philadelphia teams, the field also includes Binghamton, Brown, Campbell, Cornell, Dartmouth, Francis Marion, Fordham, Furman, Harvard, Kentucky, Princeton, Rhode Island, St. John's, Seton Hall, and Yale
Temple, which won the 2008 Big 5 Invitational, tied for 13th place, shooting a 616 (+48) among 17 teams in last year's event. Campbell took the 2009 title, carding a 587 (+19) with Richmond coming in second shooting a 591 (+23). Senior Zak Drescher of Campbell was the 2009 individual champion with a two under-par 140.
