Temple Track Senior Tim Boeni And Assistant Coach Shameka Marshall To Compete At USATF Championships

Boeni and Marshall qualify for men’s and women’s long jump, respectively

PHILADELPHIA – Senior Tim Boeni and assistant coach Shameka Marshall have each qualified for the USA Indoor Track & Field Championships, held in Albuquerque, New Mexico on February 27 and 28. The event consists of approximately 700 of the world's top track and field athletes.

Boeni, the 2010 Atlantic 10 Indoor Men's Most Outstanding Field Performer, qualified for the men's long jump with a distance of 7.56m. The Owls' senior won the long jump title at the A-10 Indoor Championships, tying a meet record with a leap of 24-03.75.

Marshall, in her second season as an assistant coach with Temple, qualified for the women's long jump with a mark of 6.14. In 2007 and 2008, Marshall was the runner-up in the long jump at the event, landing 6.38m both years.

Both Boeni and Marshall will compete on February 28. The men's long jump will begin at 12:40 p.m, followed by the women's long jump at 3:05 p.m.
