WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Temple women's gymnastics team posted the top score in all four events to beat out West Chester and Springfield College at Saturday afternoon's tri-meet hosted by West Chester. The Owls earned a team total of 188.150, outdoing West Chester's 181.275 and Springfield's 179.925.
On vault, junior Katie Canning led the way with a meet-high score of 9.650. Classmate Chelsea Lapent place second on the apparatus, scoring 9.450.
The Owls took the top three honors on uneven bars, with junior Chelsea Troutman leading the way scoring 9.70. Senior Nina Oteri placed second owning a score of 9.40, while freshman Brittany Clark posted a third place average of 9.25.
Canning led on floor as well, posting a meet-best score of 9.80. Oteri followed closely in second place with a score of 9.70.
Up next for the Owls is a meeting with Bridgeport on March 5, with action slated for 7:00 p.m.
