BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Scoring a season high 190.650, the Temple women's gymnastics team took a third place finish at the University of Bridgeport Quad-Meet, Saturday night in Connecticut. Freshman Jean Alban led the Owls all-around, scoring a team-best 37.850.
Along with Alban, sophomore Corrine Williams competed all-around, scoring 37.425. Williams placed fourth on floor and beam, scoring 9.800 and 9.657 respectively.
Also faring well on beam was senior Nina Oteri, placing seventh with a score of 9.750. Junior Katie Canning finished behind her with a score of 9.725. Oteri also tied Williams on floor.
Canning excelled on vault this evening, tying for second with a score of 9.850. In the same event, sophomore Kaity Watson placed sixth with a score of 9.800.
Junior Chelsea Troutman led the Owls on uneven bars, finishing 13th with a score of 9.525.
Temple returns home to compete at Penn on March 12, with action starting at 7:00 p.m.
