Owls Women's Tennis Earns 6-1 Win at Saint Joseph's

TU wins all three doubles and five of six singles
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Temple women's tennis team traveled to cross-city rival Saint Joseph's on Thursday, April 1, for a match against the Atlantic 10 rival. The Owls earned a 6-1 victory to move to 6-9, 2-2 A-10 on the year. Saint Joseph's dropped to 4-14, 1-4.
May Johnson and Theresa Stangl got things started on the right note, earning an 8-0 win at third doubles. Lucie Pazderova and Katharina Mittag secured the doubles point with a 8-4 win at number one, and Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova and Josephine Bergman added an 8-2 win at the second flight to complete the sweep.
In singles play, Mittag kept rolling with a straight-set sweep at number six, and Rukavyshnykova made it 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at second singles, her sixth straight singles win. Johnson wrapped up the match with her 6-2, 6-0 win at the fifth flight to make it 4-0.
TU plays again on Saturday, April 3, at George Washington at 2:00 p.m.
