PRINCETON, NJ -
The Temple men's golf team turned in its best performance of the 2009-10 season, placing sixth at the Princeton Invitational Sunday. The Owls carded a three-round total of 891, two strokes behind fifth-place Villanova and 17 back of Yale and Harvard who tied for first among the 15 teams in the field. Yale won the title in a tie-breaker.

Junior Andrew Mason led the Cherry and White with a two over-par 215 (75-70-70) to tie for fourth overall in the field of 78 golfers. He carded one under-par 70 in each of his final two rounds for his best finish of the season.

Junior Mark Edmondson (77-74-73, 224) tied for 28th while fellow junior Joseph Kim (79-72-74, 225) was one stroke behind and tied for 32nd.

"It was wonderful for Joe Kim and Mark Edmondson," Temple head coach Brian Quinn said. "They are starting to play really well and I am really excited to see how they will play the rest of this season.

Every tournament is a preparation for A-10 Championship. Andrew is playing really well and we now need to get Eric back on track."

Freshman Devin Bibeau, who carded a team-best one-under 70 in the first round, was four strokes behind Kim (70-79-80, 229) and tied for 52nd place.

Senior Eric Plisko (77-83-83, 243), the Owls' top golfer on the season, struggled with his stroke and placed 75th.

The Owls next compete at the Caves Valley Spring Intercollegiate in Owings Mill, Md.
