PENNSAUKEN, NJ – The Temple women's crew team turned in its best performance at the Atlantic 10 Rowing Championships since 1998, tying for third place with Saint Joseph's Saturday on the Cooper River. The Owls totalled 39 points, one behind second place Massachusetts (40 pts). Rhode Island won its second A-10 title with 53 points.
Temple seniors Bailey Chick and Mary Webster earned first team all-Conference honors while senior Nicole Wagner was named second team all-league.
"It was a great team effort" Temple head coach Tim Hagan said. "Everyone rowed well for us. It was great for the Varsity 8 to medal, and we were on contents up until the end. The Second Varsity 8 also had raced well as did the Varsity 4.
Each week we have rowed faster and faster. The team is really working hard and it is paying off. This bodes well for the future of Temple rowing."
