Men's Tennis Takes Fourth at Atlantic 10 Championship

Cherry & White Fall 4-3 to Duquesne on Final Day
MONROEVILLE, Pa. – Temple's men's tennis team's season ended on Sunday, April 18, after a 4-3 loss to Duquesne in the third-place match of the Atlantic 10 Championship. The Owls end the year with a 10-12 overall record and fourth place at A-10's, their best finish at the conference tournament since a third place spot in 2006.
In doubles play, Filip Rams and Dmitry Vizhunov earned an 8-3 win for the Cherry & White at the first flight. Duquesne claimed the other two matches, however, to earn the point and the early lead.
Filip Rams was again victorious from his number one singles spot, defeating Jeremy McClelland 6-2, 6-4 to finish the championship with an undefeated record in both doubles and singles. Also earning wins in singles play were Vizhunov and Stanislav Stekolshikov. Vizhunov earned a 6-4, 6-3 decision over Bryan Roberts at the fourth flight and Stekolshikov was a 6-1, 6-3 victor against Mark Maciuch at number five.
Second-seeded Xavier earned its third-straight A-10 title by defeating top-seeded George Washington 4-3 in the title match.
