Oteri third on floor, Canning fouth on vault

Results

DENTON, Texas – Temple women's gymnast senior Nina Oteri took third place on floor, and junior Katie Canning earned fourth on vault in the USAG Event Finals, held Saturday night at Texas Women's University.

Oteri scored 9.750 on floor, leading the way with the Owls' highest finish of the day. Canning scored 9.725 on vault, finishing fourth.

Sophomore Kaity Watson also competed on vault, scoring 9.375 to finish 12th. Junior Chelsea Troutman was Temple's lone competitor on parallel bars, scoring 9.575 to finish ninth.

Competing on floor with Oteri was sophomore Corrine Williams, who placed sixth with a score of 9.700.

For qualifying to the event finals, each gymnast received first team USAG All-America honors. Those selected as alternates garnered second team USAG All-America recognition. Below is a list of the Temple honorees.
