Women’s 4x400m Qualifies For ECAC Final On Day One Of Penn Relays

Owls bode well on day one

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple women's 4x400m relay team highlighted action on day one of the Penn Relays, held Thursday at Franklin Field. Comprised of Christian Taylor, Tashima Stephens, Tessa West, and Paris Williams, the team placed 25th overall to qualify for the ECAC Final on Saturday.

The women ran a time of 3:43.84, and will compete again at 5:45 on Saturday.

A trio of Owls competed in the 400m hurdles. Junior Assata Cowart led the way placing 16th (60.46), followed by Taylor in 25th (61.04) and freshman Jade Wilson (40th, 63.32).

The women's 4x100m also ran well on the day (McRae, Dorsey, Stonewall, Butler), clocking in at 49.36.

In the field, sophomore Alanna Owens placed 10th in the shot put, throwing 43-2.50. Classmate Ebony Moore threw 131-7 in the discus to place 17th, and senior Brittney McRae nabbed 13th in the long jump landing 18-6.

The women's sprint medley competes on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
