WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Senior Christiana Taylor placed second in the triple jump to lead the Temple women's track & field team to a 10th place finish at the Colonial Relays, hosted by William & Mary Saturday afternoon.
Taylor nailed a leap of 11.87m in the event, scoring big points with a second place finish.
Also in the field, senior Melissa (Gale) Hand tied for fourth in the pole vault, clearing 3.40m.
On the track, junior Paris Williams clocked in a time of 55.84 in the 800m, placing fourth. Senior Brittney McRae led the Owls in the 100m hurdles, placing sixth in a time of 14.24.
The relay teams also fared well, with the 4x400m team (Bennett, Cowart, Wilson, West) placing third in a time of 3:42.87.
The 4x800m relay team (Bennett, Cowart, Smith, Stephens) placed sixth in a time of 9:01.79 and the 4x100m relay team (Butler, Williams, McRae, Taylor) placed eighth in a time of 47.93.
Up next for the Owls is the Lou Onesty Invitational, held April 9-10 at the University of Virginia.
