Women’s Track & Field Qualifies Four Individuals And One Relay To NCAA East Regionals

PHILADELPHIA – Four individuals and the 4x400m relay will be representing the Temple women's track & field team at the 2010 NCAA East Regional, held May 27-29 in Greensboro, N.C. on the campus of North Carolina A&T.
Junior Paris Williams will be appearing in the open 400m dash preliminaries at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27.
Senior Christiana Taylor takes to the long jump finals for the Owls, a champion in the event at the 2010 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships. The women's long jump is slated for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27.
The 400m hurdles champion from the same meet, junior Assata Cowart will be competing in the same event for the Owls next weekend. Her event is scheduled to go off at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27.
Taylor, along with juniors Shadaya Bennett, Tashima Stephens, and Paris Williams, will team up for the 4x400m relay preliminaries. Freshman Jade Wilson will make the trip as an alternate on the squad. The 4x400m relay begins at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 29.
All nine athletes will have one more week to prepare for the meet, as the NCAA East Regional runs May 27-29.
