Women's Crew Has Top Two Boats Advance At Dad Vail Regatta

Varsity and JV 8 qualify for Saturday competition
PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's crew team qualified its Varsity 8 into the semifinals and Junior Varsity 8 into finals on Friday at the 72 Annual Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta.
The Owls' Varsity 8, comprised of Isabella Bourbon (cox), Mary Webster (stroke), Allison Boc (7-seat), Taylor Wasserleben (6-seat), Bailey Chick (5-seat), Jeanine Lees (4-seat), Joanna Sutor (3-seat), Nicole Wagner (2-seat) and Brynn Moore (bow), finished second to Saint Joseph's by less than five seconds while edging A-10 power Massachusetts by 1.84 seconds to gain the automatic berth into the semifinals.
Head coach Tim Hagan switched his Junior Varsity 8 lineup around, and the Owls placed third in their heat to gain a berth into the finals. The JV 8 was comprised of Erin Buchanan (cox), Dana Meadows (stroke), Kara Jackson (7-seat), Megan Welsh (6-seat), Kendra Dickerson (5-seat), Claudia Loeber (4-seat), Brittany Adell (3-seat), Sarah Jennings (2-seat) and Paige O' Sullivan (bow).
The Owls Varsity 4, comprised of Alexis Coomey (cox), Caitlin Pennington (stroke), Angela Flinn (3-seat), Ryan Ellenbaum (2-seat) and Allison Bates (bow), placed fourth in its heat, three seconds behind third place Jacksonville for the final qualifying spot for the semifinals.
Temple's Freshman/Novice 4 of Jillian Malkowski (cox), Alexandria Baland (stroke), Sarah Gierhart (3-seat), Grace Givnish (2-seat) and Tiarra steward (bow) finished third in their heat behind Fairfield and Connecticut with only the top two boats advancing to the semifinals.
Due to a weather forecast of high sustained and gusting winds tomorrow afternoon, Saturday's Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta Schedule has been modified. There will be compressed Semifinal start times and earlier Final start times. Please see the attached schedule for the details.
