Throughout the 2010 Mid-American Conference football season, MAC-Sports.com will bring you our "Extra Points" video features as we get to know student-althletes and coaches from around the conference. Today we get to know Temple DB Jaiquawn Jarrett.
Jarrett was named to the 2010 Jim Thorpe Award Watch List and is also a 2010 CDS preseason Honorable Mention All-American. He was also named a 2010 preseason All-MAC honoree by Blue Ribbon College Football Yearbook and a 2010 preseason first-team All-MAC selection by Phil Steele's College Football.
Jarrett started all 13 games at free safety for the Owls last season as was one of just nine players to start every game (he has played in every game of his collegiate career). He finished the 2009 season second in tackles on the team with 76, including 46 of the solo variety. He also had seven break-ups, three interceptions, and two fumble recoveries last season.
The Temple Owls will open up their 2010 campaign this Friday as they will host Villanova at 5 p.m.
