Teams to Begin Play in 2015

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics today announced a four-game football scheduling agreement with Rutgers University. The Owls will play at Rutgers during the 2015 and 2017 seasons while hosting the Scarlet Knights in 2016 and 2018.

"We are very excited to renew the series with Rutgers," said Temple Head Coach Al Golden. "It is a great game for our fans as it renews a regional rivalry and also allows for friends and family of Owl Nation to support the Cherry and White on the road."

Temple and Rutgers have met 34 times on the gridiron in a series that dates back to 1948, with the Scarlet Knights holding a 19-15 advantage. The teams last met on October 16, 2004 at Rutgers Stadium with RU posting a 16-6 victory. Rutgers owns a 12-10 edge in Big East Conference games played between the programs (1983-2004), but that includes a 29-22 Temple win in 1986 that was later forfeited due to the use of an ineligible player.

The Owls' 2010 football campaign begins with the Mayor's Cup on Friday, September 3, against Villanova at Lincoln Financial Field (at 5 p.m.

Temple football season tickets are on sale now for as low as $90, and can be purchased by calling the Temple Ticket Office at 215-204-8499. Fans are encouraged to visit www.OwlsTix.com for full season ticket pricing information.
