Big 5 Tournament Live Stats
PHILADELPHIA - Fans in the Philadelphia area can watch the Temple volleyball team live on Friday night, Sept. 3, on the Comcast channel. The Owls' 7:00 p.m. match at Penn will be shown live from The Palesta, the site of the 2010 Big 5 Volleyball Tournament.
Bob Lampinen and Leanra Riley will be the Comcast analysts for the match, in which Temple (0-2) will be looking to avenge its five-set loss to Penn (0-0) at last year's tournament. In the all-time series, Temple leads Penn 15-9.
The action will continue Saturday morning for the Owls, who will take on La Salle at 10:00 a.m. and Villanova at 1:30 p.m. TU defeated both teams a year ago to take second place in the tournament.
The Owls are still looking for their first win of 2010, after going 0-2 at their own Temple Invitational last weekend. The Owls came out slow in their very first set of the year, losing 25-10 to Delaware, but rebounded with stronger play despite losing in three sets. TU lost 25-23 in the second set and took the third to extra points, losing 28-26.
Against Virginia in their second match, the Owls got down two sets to one before rallying to take the fourth, but ultimately lost 15-11 in the fifth and final set.
