Owls led by 2010 Most Outstanding Performer Filip Rams

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Temple men's tennis team has been selected to finish third in the 12-team Atlantic 10 men's tennis conference. George Washington and Xavier tied for first as favorites to win the 2011 Atlantic 10 men's tennis championship in voting conducted by the league's head coaches.

The 2010 A-10 Most Outstanding Performer Filip Rams leads the way for Temple. The junior team captain posted an 18-8 overall singles mark during the 2009-10 season, including a 13-6 record in dual matches, all at No. 1 singles. The Katowice, Poland, native led Temple to the semifinals of the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championship, racking up a trio of convincing straight-set wins over Saint Louis, Duquesne and George Washington.

Charlotte is picked fourth, followed by Duquesne, Richmond, St. Bonaventure, Saint Louis, Dayton, Saint Joseph's, Fordham and La Salle.

The 2011 A-10 Men's Tennis Championship will be held April 15-17 at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis, Mo.
